Sunday walkabout

Sunday walkabout started in Gamla Stan, passed Slussen to look at the trains and stopped by at City Missions thrift store on Hornsgatan. Spent 10 SKR on a Racing game and rested in a café for a game and coffee. Guess who won?

Play with paper

Paper is such an easy way to make thing out of when toys are left at home and kids think it is just as good as the bought thing (just make suer you cut wheels perfectly circular because your child might be unveil being a perfectionist in certain aspects...). Paper from the calendar and some tape. Fold, cut wheels and tape together. Large drawing paper, crayons and the toilet roll as a tunnel and in 5 minutes you have a racing track!

Down Memory Lane

The Japanese magazine Fika came to the BankerWessels back in the days when the kitchen in the office was pink and Tuut! was just an idea. Max now ten tested the first pyjama.

Playing with food

We will continue with theme Playing with food for a while – because it is so much fun! We like elephants and when grown ups keep playing. This fabulous cappuccino is made by creative barista at Kokoh café in Wahroonga, Sydney. No paper around to practice writing? A bowl of yogurt will do! Sabine Timm creates miniature worlds with table settings and food. Add decorations to the cake if it hasn't got enough.

Never stop being …

… creative! In the 70s Ida's mom made these Barbapapas for her as the ones in the store were too expensive. They're made out of old terry towels. Never stop being creative – your kids will cherish it forever.

Back to work

Holidays are over and we are back at work. Even if daycare and school is more fun with all the friends to play with, it can be fun to play at mum's or dad's office those days when it is closed. A model of the exhibition venue Färgfabriken in scale 1:25 is just as good as a dolls house. And it's clear they need some help arranging the rugs in a good way.

Banana cake

Ten years and not hungry in the mornings, definitely not for cake. What to do?
Don't worry... in the afternoon the cake was very much appreciated!

Days out: Stockholm beaches

Last days of summer at the beach at Tanto, in the Hornstull area of Stockholm. Everyone is there!! Not so much space for running around but books and toys are nice to bring unless you fancy a game of mini-golf in the park next by.

Photo shoot in Corsica

Stella is our fashionista and she knows how to direct a photo shoot. The model however seems to have her own ideas of how it should be.

Days Out: on Sydney beaches

The best place for out door play is of course the beaches of Sydney. Apart from the well known Bondi Beach, every suburb has it's own haven and in July they are hardly any people around. The cold water does not scare us Northeners away ... No toys needed, the sand and shells and water is entertainment enough.

Day Out 5: The Powerhouse Museum

The Powerhouse Museum is Sydney's Design and Science museum. Fun for kids that like exploring, costructing (and trains). There are always children's activities, and  this time the interactive workshop Oikodome, Building architects, constructing geometric shapes with cardboard rolls. Students in architecture were there to guide children above 5 on how. Locomotive No. 1, first train in NSW. In the museum coffee shop, The babychino finished! Inspired by the exhibitions we buy a little airplane. It's another brand than Lego and the pieces do not stay together... and causes much frustration. And how does jet engines work?

Day Out 4: Sydney Olympic Park

Take a ferry or train to Sydney Olympic Park and avoid the sports arenas... Instead spend a day and bike around Newington Armoury, play on the docks, learn about Bird Life, and don't forget the Babychino...
